LG polymers plant sealed following HC directive

new Delhi. Today, the plant of LG Polymers India in Visakhapatnam has been sealed after the decision of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Police officials along with the Revenue Department were also present on the spot to implement the decision. On May 24, the court issued orders to seal the plant. Along with this, the directors of the company have also been ordered not to leave the country without the permission of the court.

In its judgment, the High Court said that apart from the 12 people whose committee has been constituted by the state government to investigate the gas leak case, no one will be able to enter the plant without the permission of the court. The court has also ordered that no property of the plant be allowed to shift.

On May 7, there was a leakage of poisonous gas from this plant, due to which 12 people, including a child, died and hundreds of people were affected by this poisonous gas. On 2 petitions filed in this case, the court decided to seal the plant. These petitions include action on the culprits and demand to shift the plant to another place.
