About 2.4 lakh Tirupati Laddus sold in AP on day-one

Tirupati. The sale of the world-famous Tirupati laddu to be offered to Lord Vyankateshwara in Tirumala started on Monday at 50% discount price in 12 districts of Hyderabad. The temple official said that 2.4 lakh laddus were sold in a few hours on the first day itself. These laddus were sold at Rs 25 per piece. Thus, a total revenue of 60 lakh rupees was received. Tirupati Laddus cost 50 rupees per piece.

The laddus could not be sold in Guntur district as the district administration did not give permission in view of high number of cases of Kovid-19 here. Laddu who arrived here were sent to nearby Vijayawada.

These laddus were sold in collaboration with the local district administration following the Corona virus guidelines. These laddus were sold from TTD Marriage Hall and TTD Information Centers. The entire stock of laddus is finished within a few hours.

The temple official said that during the Kovadi-19 lockdown, the Lord's Prasad is being made available to the devotees at only Rs 25 per piece. The 2000-year-old temple has been banned since 20 March due to the corona virus lockdown.

The TTD (Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam), which oversees the temple's management, is waiting for permission from the Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana governments to make the laddus also available to devotees from Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad during the lockdown.
