New Delhi. Airline Jet Airways, which has suspended its services for more than a year due to the cash crisis, has offered its two Boeing aircraft to bring Indians stranded abroad under the Vande Bharat Mission. The offer has been made in a letter to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The airline is currently going through an insolvency process and its affairs are being managed by insolvency resolution professional Ashish Chawharia. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs is implementing the Insolvency and Credit Insolvency Code (IBC).

Chavachharia has also mentioned the need for funding for these flights apart from offering two aircraft. In a letter to Corporate Affairs Secretary Ingeeti Srinivas on 20 May, he said that two Boeing 777-300 ERs could be used for the Vande Bharat Mission. He said, 'As per your wish, I have assessed that Jet Airways through its Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft fleet to evacuate Indians stranded in various countries (due to the Kovid-19 epidemic) to the Government of India (under the Vande India Mission ) Can help. '

"On the basis of preliminary assessment, I am confident that Jet Airways can start with two Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft to take part in the India mission, which can be expanded to four aircraft," the letter reads. Information about the current status of this offer could not be found. Srinivas and Chavacharia were not available for comment. Jet Airways currently has 12 aircraft.
