new Delhi. The Government of Chhattisgarh has launched the Kisan Nyay Yojana for the farmers of the state today. Under this scheme, the state government will provide direct cash assistance to the farmers. According to the state government, 19 lakh farmers will benefit from this scheme.
What is Kisan Nyay Yojana
Under the Kisan Nyay Yojana, the State Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 5700 crore to the farmers in the form of cash. The farmers will get this amount in 4 installments. This includes one time lump sum and crop purchase amount. For relief on the basis of yield, the government will resort to the data of the Kharif crop year 2019. At the same time, the sugar year 2019-20 data will be collected for sugarcane farmers. Along with this, steps like 4 times compensation on agricultural land acquisition and exemption on irrigation tax are also included.
What are the features in the plan
Under the scheme, paddy farmers will be given an additional Rs 10,000 per acre. At the same time, according to the support price of Rs 355, sugarcane worth Rs 250 crore will be purchased. This includes FRP of Rs 261 per quintal and incentive amount of Rs 93.75 per quintal. In the first installment, an amount of Rs 1500 crore has been transferred to the account of sugarcane, maize and paddy farmers, as well as Rs 18.43 crore has been received by the sugarcane growers. Under the scheme, farmers will be given an amount of Rs 5700 crore in 4 installments. Relief will be extended to farmers with the help of direct benefit transfer.
Who are included in Kisan Nyaya Yojana
19 lakh farmers of the state will get the benefit of this scheme. This includes 9 lakh 53 thousand marginal farmers, 5.6 lakh small farmers and 3.2 lakh large farmers. The scheme includes paddy maize, soyabean, groundnut, sesame, pigeonpea, moong, urad, kulthi, ramtil, kodo, kotki from kharif while sugarcane from rabi crop has been included.
