power ministry writes to state about package to discoms

Package for power sector

new Delhi. The Union Ministry of Power has written a letter to all the states and union territories about the financial package of Rs 90,000 crore announced to help the power sector so that it can be taken advantage of. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaman on Wednesday damaged a financial package for power distribution companies stuck in financial crisis. The ministry has also informed in a letter sent on Friday night that the power generating companies have been asked to give a concession of 20 to 25 percent to the distribution companies on the head of permanent expenses. This letter was released on Saturday.

In the letter, Power Minister RK Singh has said that this package will significantly reduce the financial burden on the power distribution companies to maintain the distribution of electricity from the power generating / transmitting companies. The distribution companies are named Energy Finance Corporation (PFC) and Rural Electrification Ltd. (REC) to get loan.
