new Delhi. The government has announced an infrastructure fund of Rs 1 lakh crore for better maintenance of farmers' produce. Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced this fund in the third part of the self-reliant India package. According to the Finance Minister, these funds will be spent in improving the farm gate infrastructure i.e. the infrastructure required for the maintenance of the crop produced. According to the Finance Minister, this financing facility of Rs 1 lakh crore will be given to improve the infrastructure fund associated with the crop produced and the infrastructure connected to the crop submission center. These centers include the main agri cooperative society, farmer producer organizations, companies and startups. Such infrastructure includes cold chains, modern storage facilities, better transportation facilities to move the crop from farms to the center.

According to the Finance Minister, due to the lack of better infrastructure for cold chain and post harvest harvest, farmers suffer a great loss in price. In such a situation, there is a need to strengthen the infrastructure of farm gates and crop harvesting centers. According to the Finance Minister, this fund will come into force with immediate effect.
