new Delhi. The biggest impact of the lockdown has been on shopkeepers on the streets. Due to lack of earnings, their livelihood continues to be a crisis even after the lockdown ends. In view of this, the government has announced a special credit facility of Rs 5000 crore for street vendors. According to the Finance Minister, this scheme will be started within the next one month.

According to the plan, the government will provide assistance of 10 thousand rupees in loan form to start the work. In addition, these street vendors will be encouraged to make digital payments, for which monetary rewards will be given. Additional working capital loans will also be made available for these street vendors, in view of better record of timely repayment or payment of debt.
