IRCTC has started taking the destination address of all passengers booking tickets

new Delhi. To prevent the spread of Corona virus infection, IRCTC, which provides online facility for booking train tickets, has made major changes in the rules for booking train tickets. IRCTC said on Thursday that it is now mandatory for all passengers to state the address of their destination while booking a train ticket. IRCTC will keep a record of the destination address of the passengers so that people in contact can be tracked when needed.

Indian Railways on Thursday said that so far a total of 2.34 lakh passengers have booked tickets for the special train to run in the next seven days. This has earned the Railways a revenue of Rs 45.30 crore.

IRCTC stated that the new rule has been made effective from May 13 and IRCTC has also made necessary changes in the reservation form on its website. A column to fill the destination address of the passengers has been added to the reservation form, which has been made mandatory to fill.

The destination address column is a new provision that has been added for passengers in the ticket booking form. The railways have decided to locate the people in contact with the passengers when needed. This column will now always be permanent in IRCTC form.
