Home Ministry's big decision, from June 1, only indigenous goods will be sold in CAPF canteen

Home Ministry decided only indigenous products will be sold at all CAPF canteens from 1st June

new Delhi. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has taken a major decision in this direction on Wednesday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to buy and promote more and more local products on Tuesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided that from June 1, 2020, only indigenous products will be sold in all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) canteens.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 50 lakh members of the family of about one million CAPF personnel will use indigenously manufactured products. The CAPF consists of CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NSG and Assam Rifles and their canteens annually sell products worth Rs 2,800 crore.

Referring to the Prime Minister's plea to the public on Tuesday to make the country self-reliant and use products made in India, Shah said that this will surely pave the way for India to become a world leader in times to come.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the country on Tuesday appealed to the countrymen to make India self-reliant and encourage more and more local products in this era of corona virus epidemic.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that I also appeal to the people of the country to make maximum use of the products made in the country and encourage others too. If every Indian pledges to use products made in India (Swadeshi), the democracy of the country can become self-sufficient in five years.
