Air India Unions move HC

new Delhi. Employee organizations of the state-run airline Air India have approached the Bombay High Court against the company's decision to cut allowances by 10 percent. Air India has announced a 10 percent reduction in allowances due to the corona virus epidemic. These allowances form a major part of the salary of the employees. Employee organizations Air India Aircraft Engineers Association, All India Service Engineers Association and Indian Pilot Guild filed a petition in the High Court against Air India and its subsidiary Air India Engineering Services Limited earlier this week. The petition, filed through advocates Jane Cox and Karisma Rao, said that on 20 March, Air India announced a 10 per cent reduction in the allowance package for all employees except the crew members due to the corono virus outbreak for three months. . The plea said that on the same day, the central government issued a consultation asking all private and public companies not to cut wages or dismiss employees due to the epidemic.

The petition urges the court to direct Air India not to take any deduction. Along with this, it has also been requested to direct the refund of the allowance cut in March, pending the final order of the court in this case.
