corona crisis

new Delhi. In view of the fast growing corona cases in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai Agricultural Produce Market Committee i.e. APMC has decided to close all its 5 wholesale markets. These markets will remain closed from 11 to 17 May. The committee has advised the wholesale traders and intermediaries not to bring the produce and essential commodities purchased by the farmers directly to the customers so that the supply of food and drink is maintained. Cereals, spices, vegetables, fruits and onion-potatoes are traded in these 5 wholesale markets.

The committee has informed that during the closure, the entire market will be sanitized, while the wholesale traders and laborers working will be fully checked. According to him, in view of increasing cases of corona virus, there was an increased risk of spreading infection between business and employee, in view of which a decision has been taken to close the market.

The APMC Market is the most important market for cereals, vegetables, fruits and spices in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). This is the country's largest facility of its kind.
