Zomato may deliver liquor

new Delhi. In the beginning of the relaxation of business activities among Lockedine, what caught the attention of the people was the long line in front of the liquor shops. Not only this, even after rising prices, these lines did not show any effect. Perhaps seeing this, home food delivery company Zomato is trying to include alcohol in its services. According to Reuters, in view of the high demand for liquor, the company has also indicated to start home delivery of liquor if allowed.

According to Reuters, Mohit Gupta, CEO of Zomato Food Delivery, in a proposal sent to the International Spirits and Wine Association of India, ie ISWAI, said that technology-based home delivery would promote responsible consumption of alcohol. According to him, at present, the company will focus on those areas where corona is not affected or less. According to Reuters, the proposal was sent in mid-April by Jometto, although the company has not responded to queries sent by him.

At the same time, Amrit Kiran Singh, executive chairman of ISWAI, said that the states should approve home delivery of liquor so that income would be increased, which has had a very bad effect on the lockdown. According to him, the state governments can regularize the income by reducing the burden at the retail counter by approving home delivery. India's alcohol drink market in the year 2018 was $ 27.2 billion, which at today's exchange rate is more than 2 lakh crores.
