Road construction worth Rs 15 lakh crore in next 2 year says nitin gadkari

New Delhi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday that the government plans to spend Rs 15 lakh crore on the construction of highways in the next two years. He also said that the Vehicle Junk Policy ie Scrapage Policy will also be finalized soon. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways and MSME said in a video conference with members of the Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Institute that the fluctuations keep coming. He suggested members to focus on increasing the cash in the business. He was discussing the effects of the corona virus epidemic on the automobile sector. He also insisted on planning for bad times while working for growth.

The Union Minister said that the industry should focus on innovation, technology and skill development to make it competitive in the global market. Gadkari said that I have set a target to build roads in the next two years by spending Rs 15 lakh crore. He also said that his ministry is working day-to-day to conclude all the cases with consent. Gadkari said that he has asked the officials of the Ministry to finalize the Vehicle Junk Policy (Auto Scrapping Policy) at the earliest. In response to a question about BS-6 vehicles, he said that the government is bound by the Supreme Court's directives in this regard, however, he will take a fresh view on the suggestion of the industries.
