Yes Bank case, Enforcement Directorate to submit first charge sheet today

Mumbai. The Enforcement Directorate will file its first chargesheet in the PMLA case against Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor and his family in a special court in Mumbai. According to ED sources, Rana Kapoor has paid Rs 2 crore from Priyanka Gandhi. A charge sheet will also be filed in the case of buying a painting of Rajiv Gandhi. During the investigation, the ED has considered it as the Proceed of Crime. In such a situation, Rana Kapoor's difficulty may increase. Also, what will be the stand of the ED investigation on Priyanka Gandhi, it will be very important.

The charge sheet mainly consists of Rana Kapoor, his three daughters, wife and his companies as the main accused. On March 8, the investigating agency arrested Rana Kapoor after a 30-hour-long interrogation. The ED had launched a money laundering investigation against Rana and others on the basis of a case registered by the CBI in 2018 in connection with a suspicious transaction with Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL).

ED found in its investigation that Yes Bank bought debentures worth Rs 3700 crore during April-June 2018 and at the same time DHFL approved loan of Rs 600 crore to Kapoor's family company Doit Urban Ventures. Kapoor's three daughters Roshini, Radha and Rakhi have 100 per cent stake in Doit Urban Ventures through another company. The amount of Rs 3700 crore invested by Yes Bank in debentures was being returned by DHFL.
