New Delhi. The government has started putting another installment of Rs 500 in the account of women account holders of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. According to sources, till now the second installment of the month of May has been transferred to the accounts of more than 10 crore Jan Dhan women account holders. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced an ex-gratia of 500 rupees every month for three months to all women account holders under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). This amount is part of the Prime Minister's poor welfare package of Rs 1.7 lakh crore. The package was announced by the government amidst the economic crisis created by the Corona virus epidemic. Following this announcement, the Ministry of Rural Development released the first installment of Rs 500 in April 2020. This package of the government includes assistance of Rs. 500 every month for three months for Jan Dhan account holder women, besides supply of free food grains, pulses and cooking gas cylinders to the poor.

Cash assistance was also provided to the farmers and elders under the scheme so that they could get some help in this hour of crisis. This amount will be transferred to the account of Jan Dhan women account holders in a period of five days so that bank branches do not get crowded in a single day. The same method was adopted at the time of first installment. This was done to reduce congestion in banks and to maintain the law of physical distance between people. Sources said that in the first two days of distribution, the second installment of Rs 500 has been transferred to about 50 percent of the accounts identified. According to the fixed timetable, the money has been deposited in the accounts of Jan Dhan women account holders whose last number is 0 and 1 on May 4, while in the last, this installment will be released on May 5 in the account of two and three-digit account holders. Has been done After this, the installment will be transferred on May 6 to the account of the beneficiaries having 4 and 5 last digits and the last number of account holders who will be 6 and 7 on May 8. After that, on May 11, the second installment of Rs 500 will be added to the account holders of 8 and 9 digits. Buddha Purnima is a holiday on May 7.
