Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said on Sunday that "Kovid cess" is being considered on liquor to help the areas and institutions affected by the Corona virus epidemic. Haryana is incurring a revenue loss of Rs 6,000 crore per month due to lockdown (bandh) implemented for prevention of corona virus epidemic. "The government is considering a new Kovid cess to help those areas or institutions that are affected by the epidemic and need help," Chautala said on Sunday.

Asked how much cess the government is considering, he said, "The discussion is on. Every product is different, it is not possible to impose a status cess, so it will depend on the product and quantity. Chautala also has the responsibility of Excise and Industries and Commerce Department. He said that he has not decided yet to open liquor shops in the state. Or. He said that it should be ensured that whenever liquor shops are opened, there is no congestion and there should be proper distance between people. The state government has also sought a report from the Deputy Commissioners as to whether liquor shops should be opened or not, as the status of virus infection varies from district to district. Regarding the relaxation of the industry as per the central government guidelines, he said that restrictions are being relaxed from April 20. Units located only in areas affected by infection have not been relaxed. Chautala said that in the coming time, industries will be relaxed further.
