KVIC bags first order from ITBP for mustard oil supply

new Delhi. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) said that it has received the first order for the supply of mustard oil from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The commission will supply 1,200 quintals of raw mustard oil worth Rs 1.73 crore to the security force. The commission will supply this order within 30 days from the date of receipt of the order.

Micro, Small and Medium Industries Minister Nitin Gadkari lauded Khadi village industry's efforts to increase local production and provide employment to millions of people associated with village industry. According to the commission, production of raw condensed mustard oil will generate additional employment in Khadi institutions.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has made ITBP the nodal agency for procurement of ration on behalf of paramilitary forces. After this, talks are also going on on orders for carpets, blankets, sheets, pillow cover, pickles, honey, papad etc. The total value of the orders for oil and carpets is Rs 18 crore.
