Amul GCMMF enters the Rabobank's Global Top 20 Dairy Companies list

16 th Biggest dairy company in world

new Delhi. Amul, which has made its place in the house of the country, is now being successful in strengthening its identity around the world. This effort, started in 1946 to give the farmers a fair price for their produce, has today become one of the world's top 20 dairy brands. Amob has entered Robobank's 16th position among the top 20 dairy companies worldwide. The special thing is that if Amul continues to grow at this pace, then it is also likely to be in the top 10 soon as the turnover of companies standing above the Amul is not far from Amul's own turnover. This list is based on 2019 turnover figures.

The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, which manages the Amul brand, ranks 16th in the list with dairy turnover of $ 5.5 billion. At the 11th place on the list is Germany's DMK with a turnover of $ 6.5 billion. Companies from the 11th position to the 15th position have their turnover between $ 5.5 billion to $ 6.5 billion. The first place in the list is Nestle of Switzerland, which has an annual turnover of $ 22.1 billion. France's Lactalis stood second with a turnover of $ 21 billion and Dairy Farmer of America with a turnover of $ 20 billion. The entire list includes 4 from France, 3 from US, while 2–2 companies from China, Netherlands, Germany, Canada. Including one company from Switzerland, New Zealand, Denmark, Japan including India.

A glimpse of what Amul's contribution to India got last week when Amul shared the story of women earning millions by selling milk. Of this, the woman at number one earned around Rs 88 lakh in one year by selling milk. Nearly half of these women have earned Rs 50 lakh in the previous year. Amul has taken milk producers out of the clutches of middlemen and brought them directly to the market, which is benefiting the producers in the form of higher income.
