Dinesh Khara recommended for next SBI chief

new Delhi. The Bank Board Bureau has recommended the name of Dinesh Kumar Khara for the post of Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest bank. Along with this, the board has also recommended to keep Challa Srinivasulu Shetty as a candidate in the reserve list. Both Khara and Shetty are managing directors of SBI. According to the bureau, its members held talks with four managing directors of SBI on Friday to select the next chairman (chairman) of the bank. Rajnish Kumar, the current chairman of SBI, is about to complete his three-year term, after which the new chairman will take over.

In a statement, the board said that given the performance and overall experience, the bureau recommends the name of Dinesh Kumar Khara for the post of chairman of State Bank of India, while Challa Srinivasulu Shetty will be the Reserve List candidate for the post. The tenure of the current chairman Rajneesh Kumar ends on 7 October. Rajneesh Kumar was elected to this post for 3 years since October 2017. It is clear from the recommendation of the board that Rajneesh Kumar does not want to expand his service. It was previously believed that in view of the Corona crisis, his service should be extended.

Khara was associated with the State Bank of India in the year 1984. He was appointed MD of the bank for 3 years in August 2016. His tenure was later extended by 2 years. Prior to being appointed MD, he was the Chief Executive of SBI Funds Management Private Limited.
