India’s business climate improving says niti aayog

new Delhi. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said on Friday that India's business environment is continuously improving and the government will work tirelessly to make India one of the easiest countries to invest and create wealth. Kant further said that the government's focus will now be on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of easing life for the citizens of India. Kant was commenting on the World Bank's decision, which stalled the publication of the 'Doing Business Report' after several irregularities in data collection, based on which countries are given a ranking of the business environment. "The business environment in India has steadily improved, not only for the World Bank's index (ease of doing business), but to make India easier and simpler," he told PTI-Bhasha.

"We in government will continue to work tirelessly to ensure efficient and effective standards for all MSMEs, businesses, startups and entrepreneurs and make India one of the easiest countries to invest and earn assets," he said. India has jumped 14 places to reach 63rd position in the Ease of Doing Business Report 2020. India has jumped 79 places in this index in the last five years (2014– 2019). Regarding the decision of the World Bank, Deputy Chairman of NITI Aayog, Rajiv Kumar said that the World Bank should seriously investigate the irregularities in reporting the figures. "The World Bank should seriously investigate several irregularities in the submission of data for its 'Doing Business Report' and issue the next report as soon as possible," Kumar told PTI-language. Has decided to postpone publication of the 'Doing Business Report' to be released about its ease of doing business. This decision has been taken after several irregularities in data changes in the last few reports. "
