World Bank pauses publication of Doing Business report on data irregularities

The World Bank's most authoritative Doing Business Report has been stuck in a controversy over data on the ease of doing business in countries around the world. In view of this, the World Bank has decided to postpone the publication of the Doing Business Report to be released about its ease of doing business. This decision has been taken after several irregularities in data changes in the last few reports.

The World Bank said in a statement, "Several irregularities have come to light in relation to changes in the data of Doing Business Report 2018 and Doing Business Report 2019 published in October 2017 and 2019 respectively. These changes were not in sync with the manner of doing business. "He said that the countries most affected by these changes were informed by the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank.

The World Bank said that since we will now do our assessment, we have decided to stop publishing the Doing Business Report. India has jumped 79 places in the last five years (2014-2019).
