However, the price of petrol and diesel may again rise further, as the price of crude in the international market was steadily rising for the third consecutive day. After this rally, the price of benchmark crude Brent crude has gone above $ 46 per barrel. Oil marketing companies did not change the price of petrol and diesel on Wednesday. A day earlier, petrol price was increased by 11 paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, while in Chennai it was increased by nine paise per liter.
According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai remains unchanged at Rs 81.73, Rs 83.24, Rs 88.39 and Rs 84.73 per liter respectively. The price of diesel in the four metros has also remained flat at Rs 73.56, Rs 77.06, Rs 80.11 and Rs 78.86 per liter respectively.
The price of petrol has been increased by nine days except for one day in the last 10 days, after which petrol has become expensive by Rs 1.30 per liter in Delhi.
Brent crude's November delivery contract on the international futures market Inter Continental Exchange (ICE) was trading at $ 46.41 a barrel, up 0.12 percent from the previous session. Whereas American light crude was trading at just $ 43.47 per barrel in the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) October delivery futures contract, up by 0.05 percent from the previous session. US oil producers have stopped the production of oil due to the storm.
