ESIC benefits may rises to 30,000 rupees monthly salary

new Delhi. In order to provide relief to more and more salaried employees during the Corona virus crisis, the Modi government is preparing to make several major changes in the rules of ESIC. According to sources, the government is going to change the rules of health and financial assistance available under ESIC.

According to a CNBC Awaaz report, the government is considering raising the salary limit for benefits provided under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). So far, only 21,000 monthly salary employees are covered under ESIC. The government is considering raising this limit to Rs 30,000 monthly. With this, employees with salary up to Rs 30,000 will also get the benefit of health, insurance and financial assistance under ESIC.

The Ministry of Labor has started preparing changes to the rules. Those with higher salaries will be given the option to stay connected with the scheme. On being unemployed, financial assistance will be according to the fixed limit.

Union Labor Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar had last week announced the disposal of unemployment benefit claims applications under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) within 15 days. The Board of Directors of ESIC has doubled payments under the unemployment benefit from 24 March to 31 December this year, providing relief to those who lost employment in the wake of the Corona virus epidemic. Fifty percent of the average salary of three months will now be given under the scheme. Earlier it was 25 percent.

Now a claim for benefits can be filed after 30 days of employment. Earlier it was possible to do it after 90 days. Now employees can claim on their own when previously they had to apply through the employer. The ESIC Board has approved increasing the payment under unemployment benefits under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme and relaxed the eligibility criteria.
