According to the ministry's June 2020 report, "The original cost of a total of 1,683 projects was Rs 20,65,336 crore, which has increased to Rs 24,77,167 crore. This indicates that the cost has increased by Rs 4,11,831.47 crore i.e. 19.94 percent. The total expenditure on these projects was Rs 11,21,435.29 crore as of June 2020 which is 45.27 percent of the estimated cost. In the report, no information is provided about the year of 979 projects nor the period of execution. Accordingly, of the 471 projects delayed, one to 12 months in 127, 13 months to 24 months in 112, 25 to 60 months in 127 projects and 61 months or more in 105 projects. The average delay in these projects is 43.34 months. According to the agencies executing the projects, the reasons for these delays are delays in land acquisition, delays in forest / environmental clearances and lack of related infrastructure and other facilities. In addition, the project funding was delayed due to delay, delay in finalization of detailed engineering, delay in release of tender and supply of equipment, law and order problem, sudden geographical problems, among other reasons. is.
