On the other hand, the price of crude oil in the international market remained soft for the second consecutive day. Benchmark crude oil Brent crude has come down to $ 45 a barrel. Oil marketing companies on Thursday increased the price of petrol by 10 paise per liter in the four metros of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai.
According to the website of Indian Oil, the prices of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai increased to Rs 81, Rs 82.53, Rs 87.68 and Rs 84.09 per liter respectively. However, the price of diesel in the four metros remains stable at Rs 73.56, Rs 77.06, Rs 80.11 and Rs 78.86 per liter respectively.
Brent crude's October delivery contract on the international futures market ICE was trading at $ 44.99 a barrel, down 0.84 percent from the previous session. At the same time, American Light Crude West Texas Intermediate, or WTI's September delivery contract, was trading 1.02 percent down at $ 42.67 a barrel from the previous session.
