new Delhi. Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday advised the people associated with the industry to focus on increasing steel consumption and employment. According to him, this will not only increase employment, but the consumption of steel in the country will increase due to lower prices. He was addressing a webinar by the Ministry of Steel and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 'Self-reliant India: Housing and construction and promoting the use of steel in the aviation sector'. Referring to Kovid-19, Pradhan said, "I believe we have been successful in controlling the situation and the industry has played a big role in it. Providing employment in the coming days will be a major challenge. ”The minister suggested that the industry should prepare a plan, so that the state and private industry should increase their expenditure. He said that this will greatly help in employment generation.

The Union Minister said that the use of steel will also increase due to higher expenditure in projects. He said that the government has already announced several infrastructure projects in various sectors such as rail, road, aviation, gas pipeline and housing. This will increase steel consumption. Referring to the existence of migrants, Pradhan said that the industry should take steps to give them cheaper houses and better wages. He asked stalwarts of the steel industry to partner with the government to provide home to migrant laborers at a low price.
