china extends anti dumping tariff for 5 years on india made optical fiber

new Delhi. China on Thursday extended the anti-dumping duty on single-mode optical fiber imported from India for five years. China's official media reported that the increased tariffs will be effective for five years from Friday under the latest decision by the Ministry of Commerce (MoCOM). These penal charges will be between 7.4 percent and 30.6 percent and the rates will be different for different Indian manufacturers. According to the report, at the request of China's single-mode optical fiber industry, the commerce ministry evaluated the damage to the industry by removing the anti-dumping duty, after which it was decided. The decision stated that if these measures are scrapped, single-mode optical fiber imported from India could affect China's domestic industry. Single-mode optical fiber is primarily used for long-lasting communications, metropolitan networks, cable television, and fiber access networks.

India has also recently imposed or increased anti-dumping duty on many goods imported from China. These steps have been taken to reduce the impact of Chinese companies on domestic markets after tensions at the border. Domestic traders were facing difficulties due to China filling cheap goods in the Indian market, due to which the government has become strict about Chinese companies. Stung by India's footsteps, China is believed to have extended the deadline for optical fiber dumping duties.
