new Delhi. JSW Steel said on Tuesday that 12.46 lakh tonnes of crude steel were produced in its factories during the month of July. It has declined by five percent as compared to production in the same month a year ago.
Giving this information in a release issued by the company here, it said that in July 2019, it had produced 13.17 lakh tonnes of crude steel. However, an improvement has been registered in July production on a month-on-month basis. The company said that on a month-on-month basis, the production of crude steel in the month of July increased by nine percent to 12.46 lakh tonnes.
On an average 83 per cent of the capacity of the factories was used in July, compared to 76 per cent in June 2020. The production of steel sheet bundles stood at 9.40 lakh tonnes in July 2020, which was 3.5 percent higher than the production of 9.08 lakh tonnes in the same month a year ago. At the same time, production of long steel products like wire and rod decreased by 24 percent to 2.40 lakh tons.
