Passenger vehicle retail sales dip by 25 percent in july

new Delhi. According to the All India Organization of Vehicle Dealers Fada, Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, retail sales of passenger vehicles nationwide fell 25.19 percent to 1,57,373 units in July. The main reason for this is the impact of the Corona virus crisis on the vehicle market. However, it has also seen recovery compared to June. The Federation of Auto Mobile Dealers Associations (FADA) collects figures of 1,235 vehicles registered at 1,445 Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the country. On the basis of this, it releases figures of retail sales of vehicles every month. 2,10,377 passenger vehicles were sold in July last year. Similarly, July sales in the two-wheeler category fell 37.47 percent to 8,74,638 vehicles. It was 13,98,702 vehicles in July 2019. Sales of commercial vehicles declined 72.18 percent to 19,293 vehicles in July from 69,338 vehicles in the previous year. Three-wheeler sales during the period fell 74.33 percent to 15,132 vehicles from 58,940 vehicles last year. Total vehicle sales in various categories fell by 36.27 percent to 11,42,633 units in July from 17,92,879 units in the same period last year.

FADA President Ashish Harshraj Kale said that the country continues to come out of lockdown. July was better than June. However, it is far from reaching the normal level in the auto sector on an annual basis. At the same time, it is expected that with the easing of the ban, the situation will be better in August. At the same time, during July, rural areas are seeing stronger growth than the cities. Sales of small commercial vehicles and bikes have increased in rural areas due to better signs of monsoon.

According to the data, Maruti Suzuki stood first in passenger vehicles. Hero MotoCorp was at the forefront of two-wheelers. Mahindra stood first in commercial vehicle
