PM Modi to inaugurate Chennai-Andaman & Nicobar submarine cable project on August 10

new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 2312-km submarine optical fiber project from Chennai to Andaman and Nicobar Iceland executed by state telecom company BSNL through video conferencing on August 10 (Monday). BSNL has announced a Bonanza offer on the eve of the occasion. On this occasion, BSNL has also made several announcements for its customers. Cooper broad band customers for the BSNL wire line segment have been increased from 30 GB to 750 GB at the speed of 10 Mbps and 15 times more data download on the existing plan.

BSNL will provide better services in terms of volume of high speed internet and mobile data download to its wireline and mobile customers in Andaman and Nicobar. Let us tell you that this lamp has been connected to Chennai by BSNL for 2312 km long submarine optical fiber. Despite many problems, this project was completed on time and its cost did not increase.

The project will also provide better facilities for fast and reliable mobile and landline telecom services to Andaman & Nicobar Islands like other parts of the country. 4G services will be available in mobile phones. Internet speed will be much faster than before. Let us tell you that the Prime Minister laid the foundation of this project in Port Blair in December 2018. The Government of India provided funds for this project under the Universal Service Obligation Fund of the Ministry of Communications.
