878 million phones sold in April-June in China, with 45% market share in smartphone market


Huawei leads China smartphone market with 45PC share, Xiaomi 4th

Beijing The Chinese smartphone market saw sales of 8.78 crore units during the second quarter, a decline of 10.3 percent (year-on-year). With this, Huawei continues to lead the market with a 45.2 percent share. This information is given in a new IDC report.

According to the IDC quarterly mobile phone tracker, Xiaomi again ranks fourth with 10.4 percent market share in the second quarter and its growth will depend largely on the company's performance in the $ 150 to $ 250 segment. Xiaomi achieved 9.1 percent market share in the first quarter.

China has sold over 43 million 5G smartphones in the second quarter. Huawei has successfully targeted the $ 300 to 600 segment with its Huawei Nova 7 and Honor 30 Series. The company has expanded its premium position with the Huawei P40 series.

Vivo ranks second, with a total 17.1 percent market share, partnering with various 5G processor vendors to target different consumer segments at different pricing. While Oppo ranks third with 16 percent market share, Apple has achieved positive growth in its sales and market share with 8.3 percent market share over last year.
