Chinese smartphone manufacturing company Xiaomi expanded its Redmi series on Tuesday and launched the Redmi 9 Prime in India, which has an initial price (4 GB plus 64 GB variants) of 9,999. The 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage option will be made available in four colors – Space Blue, Mint Green, Matte Black and Sunrise Flair from August 17 at a price of 11,999.

Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India said in a statement, "Our objective with the Redmi 9 Prime is to introduce budget smartphones with new technologies and new technologies at the entry-level level without any interruption and furthermore Our mantra in the coming years is to make people's access to quality technology accessible. " The smartphone has a 6.53-inch full HD display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratios, 394 ppi pixel density and 400 nits brightness. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, supported by the Mali-G52 GPU.

The smartphone has a quad rear camera setup with 13MP primary image sensor, 8MP secondary image sensor, 5MP macro shooter and 2MP depth sensor. For the selfie, the device has an 8MP camera sensor on the front. The Redmi 9 Prime has a 5020 mAh battery which supports 18 watt fast charging and comes with a 10 watt charger. The device also has a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port with a fingerprint sensor.
