maruti Suzuki nexa becomes the third largest retail car brand in just 5 years

new Delhi. Nexa, the premium retail brand of Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest automobile manufacturer, has become the third largest retail vehicle brand in the country in just five years of its launch. A top official of the company has claimed this. Maruti Suzuki introduced the Nexa in July 2015. Currently, Nexa has a little over 11 percent share in the car market and contributes more than 20 percent to Maruti's annual sales. Five premium models of Maruti are sold under Nexa.

Shashank Srivastava, executive director (sales and marketing), Maruti Suzuki, told PTI, "Nexa is the first attempt by a carmaker to redesign the retail experience beyond mere sales. Nexa completed its five years this July and has so far served more than 1.1 million customers with a unique consumer experience. "The sale of the S-Cross was first introduced under Nexa." Baleno was later paired with Nexa in October 2016. This was followed by the hatchback Ignis in January 2017, the sedan Ciaz in April 2017 and the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) XL6 in August 2019 on the Nexa platform. Currently there are 370 Nexa showrooms in 200 cities across the country.

Srivastava is currently cautious about its expansion due to the impact of the corona virus epidemic on the automobile industry. He said, "Today, Nexa is the third largest retail vehicle channel, with a market share of 10–11 percent. Currently, Nexa contributes 20 percent of our total sales. With Nexa, we are able to attract modern urban consumers. "He said that Nexa added 10 lakh customers in just four years and two months in September 2019. Subsequently, by July 2020, it has increased the total number of subscribers to 11 million by adding one lakh more consumers.
