Mumbai. The Sensex opened with a gain of 238.55 points in early trade on Tuesday, amidst an outflow of foreign funds and a positive trend in global markets. BSE's 30-share Sensex 238.55 points or 0.
It was trading at 37,178.15 points with a gain of 65 percent. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was up 70.95 points or 0.65 percent to 10,962.55 points in the opening trade.
Among the Sensex companies, ONGC shares rose more than one percent. ITC, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries, Maruti, Bajaj Auto and NTPC were also profitable. On the other hand, shares of IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, PowerGrid and Bajaj Finance were the losers.
The Sensex had lost 667.29 points or 1.77 percent to close at 36,930.60 in the previous trading session. Similarly, the Nifty lost 181.85 points or 1.64 percent to 10,891.60 points.
