Government puts restrictions on imports of color television sets

new Delhi. The government has banned the import of color TV sets to give relief to domestic companies. The DGFT has today issued a notification regarding this. The biggest reason for banning the import of TV sets is to create new opportunities for domestic manufacturing companies while reducing the import of non-essential goods in India. The bulk of imported color TVs in India come from China.

Through a notification issued today, the DGFT informed that the import policy for color TV has now been changed from free to restricted. This would now mean approval for import of color TV. According to the notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, 36 centimeters, screens, 36-54 centimeters screens, 54 to 68 centimeters screens, 68-74 centimeters, 74-87 centimeters, 87 to 105 centimeters and all above 105 centimeters Color television imports are banned. In addition, imports of televisions with a liquid crystal display with screens smaller than 63 cm have also been banned.
