Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that the state cabinet has reduced the rate of VAT on diesel from 30 percent to 16.75 percent now.
Diesel in Delhi has become cheaper by Rs 8.36 due to this huge cut in VAT. The Chief Minister said that the price of diesel has come down from Rs 82 to now Rs 73.64 per liter. Kejriwal said that compared to the six neighboring states of Delhi, the cheapest diesel will be found in Delhi.
In the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, it was decided to reduce VAT on diesel. Kejriwal gave this information at a virtual press conference. He said that after the reduction in VAT, the price of diesel will be reduced by Rs 8.36 per liter. The Chief Minister said that many challenges are still facing in reviving the economy of Delhi.
However, at the same time, he said that we will overcome these challenges with the cooperation of the people. He said that after this cut, the price of diesel in Delhi will be reduced from Rs 82 per liter to Rs 73.64 per liter. The Chief Minister said that traders and industrialists of the state were demanding a reduction in VAT on diesel.
