new Delhi. On Wednesday, market regulator Sebi extended the deadline for issuing June quarter financial results to listed companies by one month to 15 September. This step has been taken in view of the corona virus crisis. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) received requests to extend the deadline for the release of financial results for the quarter or half year ended June 30. The request cited a shortened gap between the deadline for the release of annual financial results for the financial year ended March 31 and the time to declare financial results for the quarter or half-year ended June 30.
Sebi said in the circular, "After deliberations, it has been decided to extend the deadline to release the financial results." Financial results can now be released for the quarter or half ended June 30, until September 15, 2020. "Earlier, the listed companies had to release the financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 until August 14, 2020. Generally listed companies are required to release annual financial results within 60 days of the end of the financial year and quarterly results within 45 days of the three-month period ending. In June, Sebi had extended the time for issuing annual financial results to listed companies in the fourth quarter to another month till July 31. Earlier, the deadline for submission of financial results was 30 June. SEBI said that the circular has come into force with immediate effect.
