Rupee ends 4 paise higher at 74.80 per dollar

Rupee Vs Dollar

new Delhi. On Wednesday, the rupee closed at 74.80 per dollar, up four paise against the US currency. Given the weak trend in the US dollar, the rupee was supported today and the domestic currency closed with limited strength. During today's trading in the interbank foreign currency exchange market, a limited amount of rupee was seen in the business.

At the start of today's trading, the rupee opened marginally at Rs 74.83. During the business, it saw business in the range of 16 paise. The rupee touched a day high of Rs 74.73 and a day low of 74.89 against the dollar during trading. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measured the strength of the dollar against six currencies, fell 0.24 percent to 93.47.

Rahul Gupta, head of research – currency, Emkay Global Financial Services, said that spot trading in US dollar and rupee is going on in a very limited range from 74.75 to 75 rupee. In this regard, some clarity will come from the outcome of the policy meeting of the Federal Reserve. This result can come by the end of the day. After which the direction of rupee can be decided against the dollar.
