Indian railways exports 10 diesel locomotives to Bangladesh

new Delhi. Indian Railways today handed over 10 diesel engines to Bangladesh. These broad gauge diesel engines have been entrusted to improve relations and connectivity with neighboring countries. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar flagged off these engines and left for Bangladesh through video conferencing. These locomotives were flown from Gede station in Nadia district of West Bengal to Darshana railway station in Bangladesh. The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and the Railway Minister through video conferencing along with the chairman and senior officials of the Railway Board of both countries.

Bangladesh sent a proposal for the purchase of these engines in April last year. According to Indian Railways the control system of these engines is micro processor based, this will help the engine driver greatly during work, these engines can run at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. With the help of modern technology at such a high speed, it will be very easy for the driver to control the engine. With the help of these engines, the journey of passengers will be very safe. According to the Railways, maintenance and maintenance of these engines is quite easy, these engines have also been updated according to the railway regulations of Bangladesh, including the maximum height limit of the rail engine.

On this occasion, Indian Railways said that it is keen to provide other equipment to Bangladesh Railways. Indian Railways emphasized that such cooperation will further strengthen railway relations of both countries. Earlier, in 2016-17, the Indian Railways had also given 120 passenger coaches to Bangladesh.
