new Delhi. There is good news for iPhone enthusiasts in India. American technology company Apple has started manufacturing its iPhone 11 in India. According to official sources, the company is making these at Foxconn's Tamil Nadu plant. This is the fifth model of the iPhone whose manufacturing company has started in India.

Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a tweet, "Manufacturing in India of iPhone 11 in 2020, iPhone 7 and XR in 2019, iPhone 6S in 2018 and iPhone SE in 2017 commenced. This date sequence is a statement in itself about how the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created an environment for manufacturing mobile phones in the country. this is the beginning.''

He said, "Apple has started manufacturing its latest iPhone in India."

Industry sources involved with the development told PTI that Foxconn has started assembly of the iPhone 11 at its Sriperumbudur plant. A few months have passed since this work started, while the iPhone 11 made in India has been available in the market since last month. Foxconn also manufactures the iPhone XR for Apple. While Vistron manufactures the iPhone 7. Apple and Foxconn have not provided any details in this regard. The initial price of Apple's iPhone 11 in India is around Rs 68,000.
