Rupee ends 17 paise higher at 74.74 per dollar

new Delhi. Today, the rupee has gained in anticipation of a boom in the domestic stock market and the Kovid-19 vaccine. In fact, the positive signs continued to increase in the domestic stock market even today, while expectations of increased investment from abroad were also strong among investors. The rupee strengthened by 17 paise to close at 74.74 against the dollar on Tuesday with the help of better signals.

In the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the rupee opened with a gain of 74.79 against the dollar. During the day's trade, the rupee touched a high of 74.73 and a low of 74.87 and finally rose 17 paise to 74.74 against its previous closing level. The rupee had closed at 74.91 against the dollar on Monday. Meanwhile, the dollar index, showing the position of the dollar against six major currencies, fell 0.03 percent to 95.80.

Forex traders said the positive trend in the domestic stock market, inflow of foreign capital and expectation of Kovid-19 vaccine supported the rupee. Scientists announced on Monday that the University of Oxford's Corona Virus vaccine seems safe and produces a strong immune response within the body. In India, AIIMS-Delhi on Monday began recruiting volunteers for human trials of the Kovid-19 vaccine 'Kovaxine' being developed in the country.
