Twitter admitted that hackers had established control over its internal systems and tools after hijacking the top individuals' accounts. Twitter support tweeted, "So far as we have come to know, we believe that 130 accounts were targeted under this development."
According to the statement, "Hackers managed to establish control over these accounts and then tweeted from these accounts." The company said that we are ascertaining whether non-public data related to these accounts has been breached and we will inform about this after collecting the information.
Downloading 'Your Twitter Data' for all accounts has been suspended until the investigation continues. Twitter said, "Taking caution, we have decided to lock accounts that have changed passwords within the last 30 days." The company said, "You may not have been able to reset your password. Now people whose accounts are not locked can reset their password."
