new Delhi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 11 national highway projects worth Rs 20,000 crore in Haryana. These projects are linked to the new economic corridor. Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari said in his address through video conferencing that more than Rs 20,000 crore will be invested in the new economic corridor. The aim is to ensure better connectivity from Haryana to Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, including other states.
"These highways will pave the way for large scale infrastructure development and provide better market access to farmers," he said. The program was chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. In this digital ceremony, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways General (Retd.) VK Singh, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, Krishnapal Gurjar, Ratan Lal Kataria, NHAI Chairman SS Sandhu, Senior officials of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and several officials of the Haryana State Government were present.
Three of these 11 projects were inaugurated. These projects are 35.45 km long 4-lane route from Rohna / Hasangarh to Jhajjar section of National Highway Number (NH) 334B costing Rs 1183 crore, 70 km from Punjab-Haryana border of Jind section of NH 71 costing Rs 857 crore. 4 laning of long route and construction of 85.36 km 2 lane Jind-Karnal road with paved shoulder on NH 709 at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Apart from this, the foundation stone for eight projects costing Rs 17,000 crore was laid. This includes 6-lane 227 km long Greenfield Expressway from Ismailpur to Narnaul at a cost of Rs 8,560 crore, a 4 lane Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari section of NH 352W at a cost of Rs 1,524 crore, 14.4 km at a cost of Rs 928 crore. Includes long 4 lane Rewari bypass projects. On this occasion, Khattar said that by improving road connectivity, industrial growth will accelerate and the pace of development in the state will be faster.
Gadkari, who is also responsible for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, said that these projects will accelerate the progress of Haryana. He said that Haryana will also benefit from the construction of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway and Delhi-Mumbai highway projects through Jind. The minister said, "These highway projects are important for the development of the country. Whether it is Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, better connectivity from western parts of the country will give further impetus to industrial growth. "He said," These important projects will reduce congestion in big cities and travel. The time taken in the project will also reduce, the projects will save time, fuel and cost, as well as encourage development in backward areas of the state.
