Petrol price unchanged, diesel price hiked on sunday

new Delhi. After a break of four consecutive days, the price of diesel rose again on Sunday, but the price of petrol remained stable for the 13th consecutive day. Diesel has again become costlier by 16 paise per liter in Delhi and Kolkata, while in Mumbai and Chennai, the price of diesel has increased by 12 paise and 10 paise per liter respectively.

According to the website of Indian Oil, diesel prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai rose to Rs 80.94, Rs 76.05, Rs 79.17 and Rs 78.01 per liter respectively on Sunday. At the same time, the price of petrol in the four metros remained unchanged for the 13th consecutive day at Rs 80.43, Rs 82.10, Rs 87.19 and Rs 83.63 per liter respectively. In Delhi, diesel is being sold at a higher price of 51 paise per liter than petrol.

With the rise in crude oil once again, the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing in the country. Petrol prices have increased 21 times and diesel prices 24 times since June. Petrol has become more expensive than Rs 9 per liter during this period. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased by more than 11 rupees. This increase in the prices of petrol and diesel has been recorded due to the rise in the prices of crude oil. The price of Brent crude has increased by 80% between the last quarter ie April to June. Crude oil prices are also expected to rise, with expectations of an increase in business activity after the lockdown.
