As part of its national campaign for boycott of Chinese goods, 'Indian Goods – Our pride', the Federation of All India Traders (CAT), a trade association, has demanded the government to go ahead with the Indian Railways' semi-high speed indigenous train-18 project for global China-owned company CRRC Corporation should not be allowed to participate in the tender. CAT has written a letter in this regard to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday.

The total value of this project for 44 Vande Bharat Express trains is more than Rs 1,500 crore. In a letter to Goyal, CAT general secretary Praveen Khandlewal said that the Chinese company CRRC Corporation is one of the six companies to tender for the purchase of contracts for propulsion systems or electric traction keys of these rails in a joint venture with a company in Gurugram.

CAT has said that this project of Indian Railways is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to Make in India, so the Chinese company should not be allowed to participate in this project, given the fact and the current circumstances. . The letter said that the Ministry of Railways should insist on Indian companies for this project.
