new Delhi. In the midst of Corona crisis, the Modi government of the Center is giving free ration to 80 crore poor people under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) till November 2020. In such a situation, if you have not yet made a ration card and you are not able to take advantage of this scheme, then today we are giving you complete information about how you can take advantage of this scheme sitting at home.
First of all, if you want to take advantage of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, then you must have a ration card for this. Explain that ration cards of 2 categories are in practice in the country. BPL ration card is issued for those living below the poverty line, while APL ration card is issued for those above the poverty line. In such a situation, you can apply for ration card according to income. However, it is mandatory to have a ration card to get ration for free.
Under the scheme, more than 80 crore people are being given 5 kg of wheat or rice and 1 kg of gram free every month by November 2020 through the National Food Security Scheme (NFSA). Recently, the central government has announced to implement 'One Nation, One Ration Card'. After its implementation, any ration card holder will be able to get ration from any state of the country. However, the migrant laborers who do not have ration card, will be provided 5 kg rice or wheat and 1 kg gram gram by the government every month to those working families.
It is mandatory for a ration card to be an Indian citizen and be over 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years old, then your name will be included in the parents' card. The person should not have ration card of any other state. Also, no member of the family should have a name in any ration card before that. A family has a ration card in the name of the head of the family and those whose name is added to the head's ration card, it is necessary to have a close relationship with the head of the family.
There is no central website for making ration cards. If you want to get a ration card, then you can easily do this work. Every state government has its own portal to apply for the ration card. You have to apply online for the ration card by visiting the food portal of your state.
Suppose you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, then you visit fcs.up.gov.in and download the form for the ration card application from there. Ration card forms are available for 3 types of migrant workers, rural and urban areas, which have to be downloaded and recorded.
After visiting fcs.up.gov.in, a portal will open in front of you. You will have to download the form by going to 'Download Forms' and clicking on the Ration Card Application Form. Here you will have two options, first 'Ration Card Application Form' (Rural Area) and second 'Ration Card Application Form' (Urban Area) from these two options, you can choose one option according to your area.
After this the form has to be filled. Along with the form, you will have to attach the photocopy of Aadhaar card, photocopy of address proof, photocopy of bank passbook, photocopy of Aadhaar certificate and Aadhaar photocopy of all family members and attach it to the nearest ration dealer or food supply office.
Some fees will have to be deposited on applying online. Once the form is submitted, it is sent for field verification. This work is completed within 30 days. If you or a member of your family's name has been deducted from the ration card or to get a new one, then you have to go to the state government's food supply website. After login, here is an option to add new member name. On clicking on it, a form will open and you will have to provide all the information here. Submitting the form after uploading all the documents. The registration number is generated after submission of the form. Forms can be tracked by this number. If all goes well, your form will be accepted. After following these steps, a ration card will be generated and posted through the given address.
Must link ration card to Aadhaar, this is the way
The government has extended the deadline to link ration cards to Aadhaar on 30 September 2020. According to the UIDAI website, the ration card holder will have to submit a copy of the Aadhaar card and a copy of the ration card to all the family members, including Aadhaar, by visiting the PDS i.e. ration sharing shop. Along with this, the passport size photo of the head of the family will also have to be taken. To match your details and Aadhaar number, the ration card holder at the PDS shop may be asked to place a finger on the biometric machine or sensor. If there is a ration card in his name, if his bank account is not linked to Aadhaar card, then he will also have to submit a photocopy of his bank account passbook in PDS shop.
The message will be sent to the registered mobile number of the ration card holder if Aadhaar is linked to the ration card. There is no official universal portal in the country to link ration cards to Aadhaar. However, some states have provided some facilities. Aadhaar seeding / modification in ration card can be done through Jan Suvidha Kendras. Through this, the ration card holder can change the ration card dealer, add or remove the family member in the ration card, change the type of card, improve or change the mobile number, improve or change the bank account number, improve or change the UID, etc. Huh.
Even if you do not have a ration card, you can avail the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana through Aadhaar Card. You can get benefits by registering for this scheme through Aadhaar Card. After this you will be provided with a slip, showing which you will be able to take advantage of this free grain scheme. In this regard, the Union Food and Supplies Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has issued orders on 30 June itself.
