Indian Railways says extends cancellation of all regular trains till August 12, special trains to continue

Railway Board today said on Thursday (June 25) that all regular mail, express, passenger and suburban train services will be suspended till August 12 and 230 special trains, trains for essential services will continue. Railway board said that tickets booked from 1 July 2020 to 12 August 2020 will be canceled. Until August 12, only special trains will run. Indian Railways has issued a notification regarding the time-table of trains. In the notification issued by the Railway Board, it is stated that all the mail, express and passenger trains will not run till August 12, 2020. Railways have stated that all tickets booked for the regular timed train for the journey from 1 July 2020 to 12 August 2020 have also been canceled and the entire fare will be refunded.

Railways has said that all special Rajdhani, Mail and Express trains which have been started from May 12 and June 1, however, will continue to operate. Earlier in a notification on 15 May, the Railways had canceled all trains scheduled for the journey till 30 June 2020 and decided to refund the tickets. On Tuesday, the Railways announced the cancellation of all tickets booked for regular trains on or before April 14, and said it would soon begin refunding those tickets.

Explain that due to the threat of Corona virus in the country, railway trains have been canceled, however after the lockdown opens, the railway has run some special trains which will continue to run even further. However, in view of the growing case of Corona in the country, Railways has decided to cancel regular trains till 12 August. However, the railway has made it clear that passengers will get 100 percent refund on the booked tickets during this period.
