The Railway Board said in an order dated June 22, that all train tickets booked on or before April 14 for trains with regular time-table should be canceled and full refund given on the ticket. "
The railways suspended the operation of all passenger, mail and express trains from March 25 amid a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronaviruses. Earlier on 14 May, the Railways had canceled all the regular train tickets booked for the journey till 30 June and decided on a full refund.
These tickets were booked during the lockdown period, when the railways issued booking permission for the journey in June.
Passengers can apply for refunds for tickets booked from the railway station counter within 6 months from the date of travel. On the other hand, the money booked online will automatically get refund in the account. At the same time, those who have already canceled their tickets can also apply to get the cancellation charge back.
