ASHA workers in HP to get incentive for fighting in fight against COVID-19

Shimla. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has announced additional incentives to the Asha workers of the state contributing to the war against Kovid-19 as an incentive for their work. The state government will give additional incentive of Rs 1000 per month to Asha Worksey from March to June 2020. At present 7834 Asha workers are employed in the state. The government will spend Rs 3.8 crore on incentives.

Additional Chief Secretary (Health) of Himachal Pradesh Government RD Dhiman said that the State Government has decided to give an additional incentive of Rs 1000 per month for March-June 2020 to all Asha workers in the state. In view of the dedicated efforts of ASHA workers in the war against Kovid-19 epidemic in Himachal Pradesh, a notification issued by the State Government states that an additional Rs 1000 per month to all ASHA workers from March 2020 to June 2020 Incentives are recommended to be given.

State Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said in a press conference that the decision to give additional incentive of Rs 4000 in addition to his salary to the state's Asha workers should be seen as an appreciation of his work. He said that the state government will spend Rs 3.8 crore on giving incentives to Asha workers.

This decision will help to further boost the morale of frontline workers in the battle against Kovid-19. He said that during the crisis, ASHA workers have played an important role in finding active cases. To find out the disease, ASHA workers gathered door-to-door information from people.
