new Delhi. The rupee fell six paise to close at 76.20 against the dollar on Friday. The strengthening of the US dollar and the increasing number of patients infected with the korana virus have affected investors' sentiments. According to currency traders, the rupee was under pressure due to the strengthening of the dollar against other global currencies, tensions between India and China and an increasing number of corona virus infections. However, support from domestic stock markets and new foreign capital inflows curbed the decline in local currency.

The rupee opened at 76.28 against the dollar in early trade. During trading it touched a high of 76.17 and a low of 76.29. After this fluctuation, it lost six paise to close at Rs 76.20 per dollar against the previous closing level. The rupee had closed at 76.14 against the dollar on Thursday.
